Director Customer Relations

As a Director of Customer Relations, you are responsible for the overall relationship between CLIENT and our customers - overseeing the business and technical relationship and serving as the single point of contact between the client and the various organizations within CLIENT. Managing customer expectations is a critical aspect of the position, as well as the ability to become a trusted advisor to senior level executives at Fortune 500 companies. We are looking for individuals with both hands-on technical experience, as well as business and project management savvy.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as technical project lead and business liaison between the Company and its clients for software that requires complex integration.
• Direct technical and business relationship between the Company and its clients during and beyond integration efforts, and in accordance with Company's and clients' business objectives.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the client organization, from individual contributors through E and C level executives.
• Write business requirements and functional specifications, as necessary to support clients' requirements.
• Advocate for the client within the Company, advocate for the Company at the client site.
• Lead and/or participate in both business and technical meetings at the Company and client sites.
• Report status (Company to client and client to Company) and coordinate clients' and Company's engineering schedules.
• Manage client expectations relative to company resources and objectives.
• Understand and communicate client requirements to Company's executive and technical teams.
• Understand and appropriately communicate Company and client strategic business positions.

Qualifications:

• Proven success managing large-scale technical projects.

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

• Experience managing overall customer relationships (from both technical and business perspectives); act as a trusted advisor to the client.
• An eagerness and ability to learn complex domain-specific details about travel industry and CLIENT's unique technology.
• Technical and/or business degree.
• Technical experience (engineering or computer science) preferred.
• Experience facilCLIENTting large client meetings to drive initiatives to completion.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to handle shifting client/Company dynamics.

Manager of Software Development

LOCATION:  WALTHAM

Responsibilities

Lead Software Engineers in the development and delivery of complex business applications using Microsoft technology.  The management responsibilities encompass both development project and staff management. Managing multiple projects will include making staffing decisions and influencing the project activities throughout the development lifecycle.  Be the owner for important business and technical infrastructure releases for the MetraNet XML billing platform.    

 

Requirements

10+ years developing on Microsoft platforms,including Windows 2003 and 3+ years of direct management experience..  Should have in depth experience in eliciting and understanding complex business requirements and translating them into robust designs and implementations.   Should be very comfortable with Use Cases.  Exposure to billing, accounting or other financial applications is a very strong plus.

 

Must possess excellent communication and leadership skills. A proven track record of delivering projects on time and handling multiple priorities and projects.

 

Should have solid understanding of XML, COM , and NT threading models.    Experience with MTS and/or COM+ transactional capabilities is highly desirable.  Must have strong relational database fundamentals and understanding of the Microsoft .NET platform and development environment. Good understanding of performance, scalability and reliability characteristics of different design and implementation choices.

Secondary Skills :

Job Description
Lead a team of software engineers responsible for the development and support of our Server products, including our document and email product lines. Working with the team, develop project schedules and milestones, estimating and assigning tasks to team members. Understand our business opportunity and market and be able to make roadmap recommendations for the Server products.  Maintain and drive technical milestones, and coordinate deliverables with other groups, including QA, documentation, product management, support, services, and project management. Understand customer and deployment needs and respond and drive resolution to requests and issues.

Seeking a technically driven and enthusiastic manager to drive software development at our Lowell HQ Location.

The appropriate candidate will be part of a management team that is responsible for delivering our product family on schedule and with high quality. The ideal candidate will have solid communication and planning skills, a proven track record of delivering software projects on time, have successfully motivated teams, and understands how to implement a software development life-cycle in a start-up environment. This position will work closely with senior and executive management, along with peer functions such as Product Management, Sales, Marketing and Field Operations. The ideal candidate should possess the following background/skills:

 

Experience managing the development of software in a variety of environments (NAS, SAN, networking environments).

Possess a knowledge of storage technologies (i.e. a working knowledge NFS and CIFS environments) and “C” and “C++” development models.

Proven experience delivering software according to schedules and timelines mandated by the business.

Proven track record of working with developers, quality assurance teams and management to write clear and concise architectural, design and functional specifications.

Candidate must be a self-starter possessing a desire to succeed at all costs and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Have successfully managed teams comprised of 20 to 50 engineers and managers.

Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate and present to customers, partners and executive management.

Position reports to the VP of Engineering. A Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum 10 years management experience delivering software projects and programs.
